Samsung UN40ES6100 Finally Discovered the Swivel Option!

Samsung UN40ES6100 Finally Discovered the Swivel Option!

Samsung UN40ES6100
Contrary to popular belief Samsung do read the news and sneer at their competitors with envy, which is probably why they have decided to anoint the swivel option on their 6100 series, a sore absence in models gone by. Before you wet your pants in excitement, be aware that 20 degrees in either direction is all the swivel you’re in for! At around $750 for the Samsung UN40ES6100 lowest price, you can be assured that not many other brands are that generous for a 40” 1080p 240Hz Slim LED/LCD HDTV. Picture quality is decent and its angle viewing, at around 30 degrees, is about 15 degrees off our target range of perfection. What you see is what you get is a common phrase that suits the Samsung UN40ES6100 very well. The Samsung UN40ES6100 would look ideal in a small to average room, due to the lack of swivel and limited angled viewing. The wow factor is definitely muted as the Samsung UN40ES6100 soap effect slowly takes over. At least, in the energy efficiency department, the Samsung UN40ES6100 will stand out. For an average daily use of 4-6 hours daily, expect to spend just under $18 a year, which is great value in energy terms.

Out of a Box Setup Great For Not Having to Waste Energy and Time

Whenever we find a set which refuses to be cuddled and embraced through endless hours of calibration twitches and settings, we rejoice and share it with the world. Imagine releasing the UN40ES6100 from its confined space, power it on and receive as close a picture to perfection that you’re lucky to ever witness again in your lifetime. However, just in case you are used to using a Dummies guide for just about everything in life, you will find the User Guide here. The Video mode comprises 4 settings – Standard, Natural, Movie and Dynamic.

Introduced in 2012, Samsung’s smart platform, better known as the Smart Hub, has proven to outwit any other close resemblance by at least a few years. When used in conjunction with the Smart Touch Pad remote or with gesture and voice controls for the 8000 series. The Smart Hub is the best and fastest route to enjoying streamed content, whether it comes via USB or wireless devices. There is also a vast library of apps at your disposal. Be aware that using the Smart Hub may not be everybody’s cup of tea, especially when browsing the Internet. It takes a lot of practice to type in anything in the url in a timely fashion! On the other hand the apps section provides a host of free apps, with others costing just a few dollars. The menu interface is very functional and easy to use, which is not something you hear often when referring to menus.

Final Thoughts and Considerations

Not the cheapest and not the best, when it comes to overall quality, the Samsung UN40ES6100 tv still deserves some credit for features, such as the Smart Hub and its many connectivity options. Motion and audio are 2 aspects we cannot defend the Samsung UN40ES6100 for but neither can we really fault. Average is better than poor, which is where we would classify a lot of the features. Samsung does signify solidity and quality with almost everything they produce and you know straight away that you are dealing with a serious company, which cares about its global image. Whilst we are unsure whether they will ever surpass the popularity shared by their fellow singer PSY, we can be assured that Samsung will be around way after he does!
